Students come to All Stars because traditional schools aren’t working for them for a variety of reasons. Common reasons include that traditional schools:
- move through course content too slowly or too quickly
- contain large classrooms that are too noisy and distracting
- don’t accommodate learning challenges or social anxiety issues
- lack flexible scheduling needed by athletes, actors or musicians
- struggle to support accelerated learning when that is preferred
For all of these students, we created All Stars… a school where every student belongs and feels comfortable learning, where their individual needs are being met, and where they can excel and feel proud of their accomplishments.
Personalized Academics
Personalization goes beyond the curriculum covered in our one-to-one classrooms, it is incorporated into every part of the educational experience. During the initial meeting, we will talk about hopes and goals as well as areas of strengths and struggles to create a plan that maximizes student achievement. Schedules can be customized and subject matter can be tailored to suit each individual learning style. Teachers personalize instruction for every student’s unique abilities and preferences. Beyond the classroom teachers are able to mentor students to help them reach their social, emotional, and academic goals.
Flexible Schedules
Some students learn better when they fidget or move or get their hands on something to better understand it. Other students may need more time or individual instruction to master the material. At All Stars, help students create schedules that align to their optimal learning times and leave time for exploring their interests outside of the classroom. Our teachers and mentors incorporate student interests into lesson plans, adjust the pacing as needed, and facilitate every student’s learning experience in a way that maximizes their strengths and potential.
Mentorship
All students learn best when they feel safe, cared for, engaged, and confident in themselves as learners. We believe positive, authentic relationships – fostered by our one-to-one learning model – are the key to unlocking the incredible potential each and every student has. Our ultimate goal is to help our students discover and pursue their own unique path. We want them to thrive in whatever their next steps are after All Stars and we are committed to supporting our students throughout their entire journey.
